The principle is simple : valorize your manure and agricultural waste into renewable energy, biogas, through an anaerobic digestion process. Solid inputs are placed into tightly sealed containers, where they are digested for 30 days at a controlled temperature. The electricity produced through cogeneration can be partially self-consumed or sold back to the electrical grid. Cogeneration also generates heat which is used to warm the digesters. The residual heat can further be utilized to heat adjacent buildings.
