For new installations, the coverage for digestate storage must be implemented immediately as part of the construction work.

For existing installations before July 1, 2021, the coverage of digestate storage pits will be mandatory from July 1, 2023.

Since July 1, 2021, open flares with visible flames must be located at least 15 meters from the digester and container.

Closed flares, with non-visible flames, must be located at least 10 meters from the digester and container.

For installations existing as of July 1, 2021, without a flare on-site, a biogas destruction device, such as a fixed flare, must be installed, or a mobile equipment, such as a mobile flare, must be used. In this case, it is necessary to demonstrate the capacity to store the produced biogas until the mobile equipment is operational.
